Route VI .- The Almond-trees Municipal Area: Garrovillas de Alconétar

The route, which starts at the San Antonio Convent, west side from the village, will show us one of the well-known landscapes modified by men in Garrovillas: the pinegroves that are beside the almond-tree are the base of the excellent desserts from Garrovillas, besides a solid economic and tourist resource.

Almost ten kilometres of the tour take us through little streets that lead us to many small properties dedicated to cultivate the almond-tree in a sandy area, fruit of the granitic rain and with few water.
The whole section is full of road signs (white and green) in the top part - that indicates that it is a local path - and yellow in the low one - color assigned to this route in the region.
As if by magic, the way goes in well preserved open fields with stone pines, that turn out to be a magnificent place for the fauna and the flora of the zone. We come up to the Rehana´s creek to leave behind the pinegrove and to meet again with the snowy almond-tree in flowers. Soon we will reach the town. Then we reach the Convent, and we will finish the trip with an agreeable walk among almond groves and pinegroves.
